American Idol fans may recognize a familiar face this season as GRAMMY nominee and GMA Dove Award winner Jamie Grace recently revealed that she auditioned for the hit singing competition and progressed through the auditions to the Hollywood Round.
“Surprise!!! I’M GOING TO HOLLYWOOD!!!!!”, Grace shared on Instagram. Although her audition wasn’t broadcast on television, Grace says she progressed through the producers’ rounds and auditioned for the show’s esteemed judging panel, which included Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, getting yeses from the final two judges and thus earning a spot on the next floor.
“Hollywood Round Episodes start NEXT WEEK! And I will definitely be watching – because I will be there,” Grace added. “I hope you see me, but the truth is, either way – there is some incredible talent that will blow your mind!”
American Idol is set to air this Sunday (March 21) and Monday (March 22) at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. Grace announced in 2016 that she was parting ways with Gotee Records to release music independently. Grace continues to release new music regularly and operates a hugely popular Youtube channel.
