In The Wild’s first single, Ease My Burdens, is now available on digital platforms.
Written, performed and produced by former Tenth Avenue North guitarist Jeff Owen, the song was written as a simple prayer during a season of transition.
“After Tenth Avenue North closed and my family moved to Florida from Nashville, I started pouring out ideas and songs from a very natural and personal place. It was a sobering feeling to be outside of the only life I’d ever known and be in a completely different environment. So during that time, I was outside playing guitar and looking up at the sky, dreaming, thinking, and praying. That’s where this song and a few others came out of me,” Owen shares.
From the beginning, listeners are drawn in by a soothing rhythm track, warm and comforting vocals, and space for moments of reflection. Simple yet expressive lyrics point to a creator who cares about his greatest creation: people.
“I intentionally designed this song in a way that it would kind of work in the background of people’s lives. ‘Ease My Burdens’ could be your companion by the campfire, while you’re doing the dishes, or studying. I hope the song helps make other people’s prayer lives easier,” Owen says. “It’s amazing how much lighter I feel after a lot of prayer and calling on God. And it’s not about feeling – it’s about realizing that God is our provider, not us.”
Authenticity shines through in Ease My Burdens and is sure to help spark honest moments of reflection and dialogue in the hearts of listeners.
“I think the industry is lacking raw, organic art and I hope this song resonates with believers who are hungry for it,” Owen says. “Sometimes worship doesn’t feel larger than life. Sometimes it feels vulnerable and naked. I want Ease My Burdens to connect with people who are hungry for worship music that fits in between their life moments.”
