Having experienced this anxiety first-hand, the artist Christian Canadian Ileen Laura sings an optimistic, uplifting prayer of and for confidence in her soaring, harmony-filled new single “I Am Yours” – available now!
“I’m someone who’s struggled with anxiety since I was a little girl,” Laura shares of her inspiration behind “I Am Yours” – which comes from her upcoming album of the same name, due for release in beginning of summer 2022. “My friends know me as a “worrier” and I am constantly fighting against myself for doubting myself.

The song begins with a tinkling piano and strings that create just the right amount of drama. With her crystal clear and beautifully melodious voice, Laura tells the story of being at rock bottom, mired in feelings of depression and shame:

The chorus begins with a “Well, I’m yours!” ” resolved, followed by magnificent choruses that transform into a journey of harmonies – from soothing “Oooohhs” to sophisticated and complex layers – all punctuated by elegant accents of strings and trumpet. , carried by a contagious rhythm.
Recorded at Robeter Productions in Woodbridge, Ontario, and produced by Peter Wellington and Robby Riggs, “I Am Yours” was inspired by the Bible verse 1 Peter 5:7 – Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares YOU. The song’s surge was entirely intentional.
“Peter and I wanted the music to sound optimistic and uplifting because after all, the idea of letting go of our anxieties, doubts and fears while choosing to live in freedom with Jesus by our side is liberating and should be shouted from the rooftops,” says Laure.
A passionate mother of two, wife and believer in Christ, Ileen Laura is a Toronto-based singer and songwriter who thrives on creating music Christian powerful and moving inspired by her deeply meaningful life experiences. Her previous single “Sit Beside Me” dealt with the shifting of responsibilities she and her husband undertook to reprioritize her music career, ultimately bringing them closer together.
