Haiti-USA-RepDom: Prayers for Haiti and the Dominican Republic
In the context of the massive deportations of Haitian immigrants by the Dominican Republic to Haiti, religious leaders saw fit to pray for the two countries sharing the island.
Indeed, pastors John Santana and Gregory Toussaint as well as other religious leaders united their voices to intercede on Saturday, August 1 in favor of Haiti and the Dominican Republic. In particular, they called for peace and harmony to reign between the two countries. The two pastors, one representing Haiti (Toussaint) and the other representing the neighboring Republic (Santana) took this action highly on the occasion of a conference of scope e international which took place from July 30 to August 2.
It was a multicultural and multiethnic conference attended by Christians of various nationalities, including Haitians and Dominicans who, far from any discrimination and hatred, praised God one voice and one heart. It was even one of the highlights of this conference nicknamed “Conquering the Giants”. It was, among other things, about conquering the giants of racial hatred and division, said one of the organizers.
Haitian Christians have made history!
“What a great conference! ” exclaimed a young woman as she walked out of Bank United Center on Sunday, August 2, the last day of the “Conquer The World ” conference. Giants” organized by Tabernacle of Glory led by Pastor Gregory Toussaint. More than one recognized that this is the first time that such an event was organized by Christians from the Haitian community.
From July 30 to August 2, tens of thousands of people of diverse backgrounds, nationalities, colors and languages flocked to the United Center Bank (1245 Dauer Drive, Coral Gables, FL 33146) to participate in the Tabernacle of Glory multicultural miracle conference.
The 4-day conference brought a grand end to a 40-day fast that began June 23 at North Miami Senior High Auditorium (13110 NE 8th Ave, North Miami, FL 33161). To end the 40 days, the “Conquering the Giants” Conference was held at Bank United Center, a sports complex that can accommodate 8,000 people.
Sunday August 2 was the apotheosis of this activity which ended with a miracle healing service by the internationally renowned Pastor Benny Hinn. “Conquering the Giants” was a blessing for many, according to the various testimonies we collected on site. Some said they were blessed by both the speakers and the guest artists. “The worship was very good and the speakers were great, ” said Jacky, a Hispanic woman. Some were surprised by the quality of the organization. Others acknowledged that it was the first time a Haitian church had organized something of this kind. Surely, the Tabernacle of Glory, through this conference, was making history in the Haitian community.
Many participants were happy to hear live in Miami the voice of Sinach, the famous Nigerian artist who sings, “I know who I am” and “Awesome God”, songs which are often sung at the Tabernacle of Glory. Other artists participating in the conference included the well-known Micah Stampley, Phil Driscoll, Ben Hur and the group Voices of Inspiration led by Cheraky Toussaint.
Several people came from far away to participate in the conference. A family of 4 people came from France especially to attend. “We heard from Pastor Gregory and his ministry at the ICC (Impact Center Chrétien) Church in France. We Googled Pastor Greg and came across the Tabernacle of Glory website advertising the conference, and here we are! “, they explain. Other people came from Haiti, Switzerland, Canada, the West Indies and, of course, from all corners of the United States to participate in “Conquering the Giants” in Coral Gables, Florida.
Many languages were heard spoken at the conference. Attendees could worship, pray and hear uplifting teachings on dreams, faith, prophecy and finances in different languages. Dominican pastor Ruddy Gracia had preached in Spanish, Yvan Castanou had preached in French, Haitian pastors Rimsky and Bornéon had worshiped and prayed in Creole, Pastor Benny Hinn, the prophet Brian Carn, Phil Driscoll, and Dr. Mike Murdock had preached or taught in English. The participants appreciated this effort by the organizers to speak various languages. “I don’t speak English very well, and I appreciated the fact that some of the speakers spoke Spanish and that there were instant translation facilities,” she said.
