Pastor Cayo’s “Souf Pou Ayiti” March: Stroll or Betrayal?

Published on

A look back at Pastor Cayo’s shocking interview on the Bossbens Show

In a recent interview with the Bossbens Show, Pastor Wilner Cayo made surprising claims regarding the march organized by Haitians, under the leadership of the pastor . Pastor Cayo, who was recognized as one of the coordinators of this event in Montreal, downplayed the demonstration, calling it “just a stroll“.

However, this famous July 9, 2023, he was technically the direct representative of the pastor to Montreal. I let you listen and see the level of involvement of Pastor Wilner Cayo during this “just a stroll“.

Are we observing with concern the signs of division, betrayal, disappointment or frustration as we approach the first anniversary of this international, peaceful and historic mobilization for the Haitian community? Are we talking about men of the Church or politics?

The video of the interview highlights Pastor Cayo’s deep conviction, but it raises so many questions. What could have happened? Have we missed essential elements? Is this the manifestation of a communication problem already perceived by many?

Pastor Cayo, you are right about the need for a strategic plan. However, in 2023, was there one? How were you able to engage in a movement of such magnitude without the assurance of a well-defined strategy? Did you not expect such success, or did you have another plan in mind that didn’t come to fruition?

I invite you to listen to the words of Pastor Cayo when Jean Ebens Jerome asked him this precise and essential question in the current political context of Haiti: What can the church do to help resolve the crisis?

Pastor Cayo vs Pastor : search for power or real disagreement?

Surprising! Is Pastor Wilner Cayo a simple member of a church or a leader? Isn’t he just as responsible? Wasn’t this the same person who mobilized the church on July 9, 2023? Why “they have” and not “we have”?

Why point out that Pastor Gregory plagiarized an idea you had in Montreal? Have you achieved something better? Are you asking for something? What was the impact of your initiative?

What message of unity do we send when dissension of this nature shakes our evangelical community?

How can we claim to inspire the Haitian nation if the church itself struggles to reconcile its own differences?

As one of the leaders of this movement “ » in Montreal, what actions have you taken to galvanize the community and serve as a model for Pastor Gregory? Can Haiti demonstrate the same magnitude regarding your initiatives? Are we talking about “ Souf pou Ayiti », our Haiti? Or of Gregory?

Was this public unveiling timely? Are we facing two figures, one of whom seeks power and the other not? Where is the dividing line?

Humility, tolerance and loyalty necessary to build trust in the Haitian evangelical community

Personally, I was disappointed by this interview which looked more like venting. Who was really speaking – the pastor, the doctor or the human?

As long as such reactions persist, the unity needed to restore Haiti will remain elusive. In the Bible, God chooses His servants to manifest His glory. Haiti requires the contribution of all its children. Humility to recognize a brother’s superiority in an area, tolerance, patience and loyalty are essential to building trust.

Once again, this situation teaches us that trust is not built in seven months; sometimes you have to know how to sacrifice your personal projects for the common good.

While some question the impact of this march on the country, we cannot ignore the fact that the pastor’s accomplishments are very remarkable and considerable within the Haitian evangelical community and even in the eyes of the whole world.

Pastor Grégory Toussaint, Pastor Wilner Cayo and all of you, the pastors of the community, are shepherds, responsible. Use your intelligence, truly make room for the Holy Spirit in your life to avoid further weakness, and manifest the power of God’s word in your actions. The demonstration of unity of the body of Christ comes through you. Be good examples.

From the beginning, he publicly stated that he was waiting for God’s direction to know what the next step will be.

During an interview with Radio Télé Métropole, Pastor Gregory Toussaint explained that the march was a divine directive and that he had not received instructions from God to undertake a similar movement. This interview took place on July 10, 2023.
