Fireflight have released a timely, hope-filled single with “Keep Your Head Up,” a standout offering from Who We Are: The Head and The Heart.
“Keep Your Head Up” is now available for radio ads and is available on all major streaming platforms on https://lnk.to/Keepyourheadup. The song is also accompanied by a a video with lyrics. For Fireflight, the song’s message is both personal and deeply universal. “Anxiety, depression, illness, loss, death, abuse, anger, fear, confusion, and frustration are all things we’re all dealing with on some level right now,” guitarist Glenn Drennen shares. “They’re also things humanity has been dealing with since sin entered the world. Hope has, is, and always will be needed this side of heaven.”
This life-giving message is accompanied by a soaring musical arrangement, featuring seamless guitar riffs from Glenn and Justin Cox, a bass backbone provided by Wendy Drennen, and deep vocals from Dawn Michele. The song was co-written and produced by Josiah Prince (Disciple). Everyone involved is committed to communicating the same message. “I want listeners to know that there is a Savior in Jesus who loves them,” Glenn explains. “That there are people in this world who understand them. That a little hope, kindness, mercy, empathy, and grace can be what changes someone’s life for the better… even if there is no immediate solution to their situation.”
“Keep Your Head Up” follows previous single “Who We Are.” 2020’s Who We Are album was released to critical acclaim, garnering nominations at the We Love Awards and the Grizzly Awards. It’s the latest entry in a career that has always been marked by a deep emotional resonance with fans, earning the band past accolades for songs like “Unbreakable” and “For Those Who Wait,” a GRAMMY nomination and several nominations to GMA Dove Awards. .
