Dream Label Group is preparing for the Christmas season with the latest addition to its Dream Christmas series. 29:11 Worship, Futures, All Creatures and Joel Vaughn all contributed songs to Volume 7. The new EP is available now for pre-save before its release on October 28. In this TCB exclusive, All Creatures talks about their new holiday song “God Be With Us” and their favorite Christmas album.
What meaning do you hope listeners take from “God be with us”?
We live in what some would call a desperately divided world. Love, civil discourse and mutual respect seem to be relics of a lost past. The Christmas story, however, always reminds us that when God comes among us, things change. Our hope is that this song will inspire listeners to pray that God will make His presence known and turn our hearts back to being bearers of love, peace, and hope. THE Christians are meant to BE Christ to the world and we hope this song will remind us of that.
Peace is one of the highlights of the Advent season. How do you personally relate to “Peace” during the Christmas period?
I (Chris) have a 7 year old and a 4 year old, plus a puppy and six chickens. My house is rarely what you would call “peaceful”, especially at Christmas when sugar consumption is higher and more people come over. All of this reminds me that peace doesn’t usually mean silent nights and candlelight, but rather stillness, hope, and joy in the midst of chaos. Childbirth is a perfect picture of peace.
Which holiday album puts you in the Christmas spirit the most?
Honestly, the Charlie Brown Christmas album by the Vince Guaraldi Trio works every time for me.
What are your biggest hopes personally and professionally as we prepare for 2023?
Between All Creatures, Chris’ solo project, Neon Feather, and the myriad of other projects underway, peace is a need for our hearts and minds. We both really believe in these songs and the abilities God has given us and we really hope to see the fruit of our labor, especially seeing what God is going to do with it in 2023. We are also praying and hoping that peace will flood the world. earth this year; for the Ukrainian war to end, for political divisions to be healed, and for the church to return to a posture of love and humility.
