12x platinum and GRAMMY-nominated rock band SKILLET’s DOMINION (Atlantic) is making an impact after debuting at No. 1 on iTunes three weeks ago. Their 11th studio project, it has already amassed over 33 million global album streams to date, and a Top 20 Active Rock radio track with “Survive the game”, (which garnered over 16 million global streams, and whose Musical clip has over 4 million views). Today, “Refuge“, the band’s first Christian AC radio release from the album, racked up over 20 radio plays, the most ever for Skillet in a first week on the format. Today, American singer-songwriter posted their recent conversation with Cooper about the process of recording and writing songs against the extenuating circumstances and implications of the COVID-19 pandemic and how “the album layers expressive textures over a searing soundscape to reinforce the narrative.” “Lyrically,” they continued, “this album is a rallying cry for those searching for hope amidst the haze of these uncertain times. Cooper has joined FOX and friends last Saturday to discuss themes surrounding DOMINION, the celebration of freedom and freedom from fear, and tomorrow will launch a 5-day Bible study on the Dominion of Christ with YouVersion, accessible here. Cooper will also join a round table at this year’s National Religious Broadcaster (NRB) annual convention, discussing “Engaging A Hostile Culture” on March 10. Skillet is currently on the road headlining Winter Jam 2022.
