Kirk Franklin: Pioneer of Contemporary Gospel

Kirk Franklin, an iconic figure in contemporary gospel for over thirty years, announces his 2024 tour with renowned artists such as David and Tamela Mann, And . The tour will cover various cities in and will expand to Canada. Franklin has made her mark on the gospel music industry with her multiple Grammy Awards and successful collaborations.

For more than three decades, Kirk Franklin has been at the forefront of contemporary gospel music. A Texas native, he demonstrated musical talent at a young age, learning piano at age four and becoming music director of his church choir at age 11. In 1992, he formed a 17-piece choir, The Family, with whom he released five albums and won three Grammy Awards before disbanding in 2000. His 2002 solo album The Rebirth of Kirk Franklin reached number four on the Billboard 200. Beginning in 2005, he continued to chart with Grammy-winning albums including Hero, Wanna Be Happy?, and Love Theory. In 2023, he won three Grammy Awards with Maverick City Music for their joint live album, Kingdom Book One.
