Corey leaves behind two daughters, Allyson and Kaylee, and a Christian community grieving but grateful for his example of love and sacrifice.

Dr. James Sweetland, an emergency room physician at the scene, attempted to save Corey after he was shot, but despite the efforts of several people, Corey succumbed to his injuries. Two other men were also injured in the incident and are currently in critical condition at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
