Today (November 5th), Vertical Worship releases new music with “Blessed.” The official video for the new single can be viewed below. And, “Blessed” is available now to download or stream.
Vertical Worship explained on social media that the new song is inspired by the Beatitudes. “The first line of the Sermon on the Mount, ‘Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven,’ is a word we may be familiar with, but it holds a profound invitation from Jesus. It’s not those who have it all figured out or have all the answers who will know more about His kingdom, but rather those who recognize their need for Him. And more of Him means more of His reign, His reign in my life. His law is love and He draws near in mercy.”
They continued, “So, quite simply, that’s where the song began, from a place of remembrance, a place of trust that when we turn to Jesus, we gain more of Him. And more of Him means more of His presence, His peace, His love. For what does it matter if we gain the whole world, but lose our soul? What a gift we receive in every moment to recognize our deep need for Jesus. And in recognizing, He draws so close to us and we come to know Him better, the One who knows us perfectly.
