Why are we made to sin? - 10 reasons

BGospel Newsletter

Why are we compelled to sin when we truly desire not to sin, especially those who love Christ and want to please Him? This question needs answers in order to help us fight sin at the root. When we know the origin of an evil, we can better fight it and above all achieve victory over it.

Sin is like stuck to Man, even if we who are in Christ no longer practice it, sometimes we fail in one way or another. But why ? Can we not reach the level of Jesus Christ our Lord who has not sinned?  But, you know, Jesus appeared to take away sins, and there was no sin in him 1 John 3:5.

According to the Bible we can classify the sources of sin into 10 points:

I - Our sinful nature:

We are all born sinners, our sinner nature is the nature that will make us until one day we meet Jesus Christ to neutralize it to make way for our new nature shaped by the Holy SpiritFor as by the disobedience of one man many have been made sinners, so by the obedience of one alone many will be made righteous Romans 5: 19.

II - The lusts of the flesh:

The flesh has desires contrary to those of the Spirit ... It is filled with greed and if we do not manage to control it, we end up giving free rein to its lusts. Beloved, I urge you, as strangers and travelers on earth, to abstain from carnal lusts that make war on the soul. 1 Stone 2: 11

III - Spiritual health:

Spiritual health we nurture it by praying, meditating on the Bible, spending time in the presence of God and also watching over our eyes, words, lives, walks, etc. When we are not in good spiritual health, the flesh becomes strong and we may be driven to sin. Watch and pray, lest you fall into temptation; theremind is willing, but the flesh is weak. Mark 14:38

IV - Bad companies:

Making sure you choose the right dates is an important thing. Bad company can cause us to slander, to lie, to take our commitment to Christ lightly, and to call “good” what is “bad”. Make no mistake: bad companies corrupt good morals. 1 Corinthians 15: 33

V - The enemy and his army:

The devil is the tempter, with his army, they aim to push the Man to sin against God and to move away from Him.  Thus, in my impatience, I sent to inform you of your faith, in the fear that the tempter would have tempted you, and that we had worked in vain. 1 Thessalonians 3: 5

VI - Love of the world:

If this world and its riches or pleasures are things that are most dear to you, you could not fail to corrupt yourself in relation to the word of God. So do not love the world. Adulteries you are! Do you not know that the love of the world is enmity against God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Jacques 4: 4

VII - Idleness:

Laziness, inactivity for the Lord can lead us to sin. If we have nothing to do, the enemy will tell us what to do. To work for God greatly strengthens the child of God.

VIII - The lack of fear of God:

Without the fear of God, it will be difficult for us to say NO when sin will come before us. Having therefore such promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of the flesh and of themind, completing our sanctification in the fear of God. 2 Corinthians 7:1

IX - A new birth not yet experienced:

When one experiences the New Birth, one immediately inherits the fruit of the Spirit ; a fruit that is essential to us in order to be able to please goodbye and walk in a way that honors Him.

X - Mamon:

No one can serve two masters. For where he will hate the one, and love the other; where he will attach himself to one, and despise the other. You can not serve God and Mamon. Matthew 6: 24Now that we know these things, let's fight sin better to please our God.
