Chris Tomlin continues the tradition by expanding ‘Good Friday Nashville’ to a global audience

Grammy Award-winning artist Chris Tomlin is partnering with Facebook to expand his Good Friday Nashville event to a global audience through an exclusive Facebook live stream. Good Friday Worldwide will be live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Friday, April 15 at 7 p.m. CDT, where Chris is excited to finally be back, live and in person, for a powerful worship experience. Tickets are available now to attend the concert at Good Friday Nashville or go to Facebook.com/christomlin to be broadcast live on April 15.

Chris spoke to The Tennessean about the event HERE. “There’s nothing like being there with people and gathering with people. It (Good Friday Nashville) just keeps growing and growing and growing…with what we’re able to do,” Chris said. “But the heart is the same. Coming together to remember the cross, to remember this weekend. That’s what Easter is: it’s a memory of what Jesus did for us.

During the pandemic the past two years, when a live concert was not possible, Chris committed to finding a way to maintain the tradition in light of the inability to physically gather. Chris called his friends to help him and team up for Good Friday Worldwide. The TBN television network and more than 30 radio stations offered their support to bring the world together during this time. The virtual concert delivered the message of hope that comes from the cross while uniting the church in worship. The television show has been seen in 32 countries around the world. In this spirit of unity and collaboration, everyone brought together their unique gifts, audiences and voices to meet people wherever they are, all at the same time and at the same time across the world, carrying the message of hope that comes from the cross. while uniting the church in worship.

Throughout the history of Good Friday Nashville and Good Friday Worldwide, K-LOVE and Air1 radio have partnered alongside Tomlin to make the event a local, and now global, tradition. The stations are continuing their support this year by simulcasting the concert live that evening.

Proceeds from the Good Friday Nashville concert will go toward foster care and the adoption crisis through “For Others” to be distributed locally at Tennessee Kids Belong this year. ‘For Others’ is a non-profit foundation created by Chris and his wife Lauren, a non-profit organization aimed at bridging the gap between children in need and competent care providers by raising awareness, maximizing resources and by mobilizing communities. “Good Friday Nashville is one of the most rewarding things I have ever been a part of. When this event started 5 years ago, I dreamed that it could become an annual thing…a tradition for family and friends to come together, to celebrate, to remember,” Chris shared. “As we got closer to this first Good Friday, I felt the need to make this evening more than just a concert. My wife, Lauren, and I felt a calling to shed light on the foster care and adoption crisis in our country. It was through this and our first Good Friday that our non-profit organization, For Others, was born. So every year, Good Friday Nashville helps children find forever homes across our state. So when you join us for this powerful night of worship…know that you are helping to make a difference in so many lives.

Since its inception in 2017, Nashville’s Good Friday has sold out every year, breaking attendance records as it became the largest ticketed Christian concert in the venue’s history and continuing to accomplish similar feats each year. Plans are currently in place for Chris to continue the Good Friday concerts indefinitely. Each of the previous Good Friday concerts in Nashville, Chris has surprised concertgoers by inviting special guests, including Hillary Scott (Lady A) in 2017, Rascal Flatts in 2018 and in 2019 on stage. The tradition continued on Good Friday Worldwide with guests We The Kingdom and Pat Barrett in 2020 and Lady A in 2021. This year’s historic return will be no exception.

Good Friday Nashville is produced by Awakening Events, who has a 17-year touring relationship with Chris and is also donating his time and talents to this concert. Good Friday Nashville is presented by K-LOVE, Air1, The Fish and WAY-FM.

Last week, Chris released new music with a 2-track single titled “Always,” featuring the songs “Always” and “YAHWEH (No One) [with Elevation Worship].” It is available now at all digital retailers and can be found HERE. Watch lyric videos for each song HERE.
