Boasting charisma, passion, courage and a powerful voice Charlson “Poppy” Duverné, received this gift from God, to amaze people by singing, playing music and even composing. He grew up with music in his blood, and since a young age he has explored this field slowly, following in the footsteps of his famous uncle Rigaud Duverné.
Born in Haiti on May 25, an only child, he has always shown an interest in music and this is how he plays several musical instruments including the guitar, piano and drums and sings in French, English and Creole. He breaks new ground by participating in various local concert shows and collaborating with several artists from the city.
In 2003, he won the award for artist of the year on the show Breath Morning in Haiti. 2004 is the best male voice prize awarded by the radio association in Haiti He participated the same year on the music “yon chans pou Gonaïves” after the flooding of the city of Gonaïves. Poppy perfects her style of music and the world (world beat) accompanied by folklore
This young singer, incredible through the diversity of his talents, has left his mark on the world by participating in several projects and the formation of several groups such as Alabanza, Zetwal,
Revelasyon, Genesis, Salem and Jehud who amply benefited from his talents.

Poppy puts no limit to the gift he received from God and he has proven it to us with outstanding collaborations with Maggy Blanchard and Wyclef Jean. Moreover, he continually brings his talent to the world of Haitian music with groups like Nou 2, B12, K-Priss and on Djakout Mizik’s “Mannigueta”. On two occasions he replaced the keyboardist (Dany) of the most famous Haitian music group TABOU COMBO
In 2005 this prodigal son made the decision to concentrate on his career as a solo artist and released his very first album entitled Préserve-moi (Kaché mwen) containing a range of rhythms, with a pronounced flavor of RnB and compass, favorite style of this multi-talented musician.
In 2006 in Europe where he accompanied the winner of the RFI (radio France Internationale) Belo the first RFI world music, on a tour of West Africa, Europe and North America where he played in Angoulême at the France Festival World Music, in Paris, Senegal, Mali, Niger, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Ouagadougou, Lomé, Togo. He is invited to participate in the Francofolies de Montréal and travels to eight cities in Quebec, such as Iles D’Orléans, Rimouski, Richelieu, Tadoussac, etc.
