Authentic Faith at the Heart of Brandon Lake‘s “Praise!”
The Christian singer Brandon Lake recently shared that his collaboration with Elevation Worship And Chandler Moore for the live recording of the song “Praise!” was not initially perceived as a success. Chris Brownmember of Elevation Worship said the process of creating the song was light-hearted, almost “for laughs.” Yet, against all odds, the song climbed to number one on the Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart, staying there for 22 weeks. Lake revealed that his wife was the only one who believed in the potential of “Praise!”, although he initially thought the song might not be as successful as he had hoped.
During a sold-out taping at one of Elevation’s churches, Lake wanted “Praise!” to be the last song, in case it failed. Ultimately, the energy from the crowd was indescribable, captivating the audience in attendance. Brown echoed this reaction, adding that the atmosphere was frenetic. The experience held surprises for both Lake and his team, and his wife’s faith in the song was a defining factor in their journey.
Beyond music, Brandon Lake also touched on deeper topics, such as the importance of authentic communication in the modern church. In an interview with The Christian Post, he said the new generation is looking for truly authentic Christian leaders rather than stylistic speakers. This sincere approach is crucial to building trust and making biblical messages relevant today. His experience touring with Phil Wickham, meanwhile, revealed the potential for transformation in individual lives, reinforcing Lake’s belief that every concert has a lasting impact.
