Following the success of his latest single “God Of Abundance”, released last year to rave reviews and strong support, the singer, songwriter-composer and UK-based Nigerian Gospel musician AYO DAVIES is back with a whole new single to launch start the year, titled “YOU ARE STILL GOD”, alongside a moving music video that will thrill you.
Produced by Evans Ogboi and taken from his long-awaited and highly anticipated debut EP, “You Are Still God” sees Ayo Davies at his best, as he exalts his God as the Ancient of Days. Led by the glorious performance vocals from Ayo and a lush choir supporting vocal harmonies, over a grand piano ballad, with free drum arrangements, “You Are Still God” is a glorious and powerful worship song for the ages.
For his “You Are Still God” music video, Ayo Davies teamed up with renowned filmmaker Iyke Eche of HSIdeas, who has previously worked with Muyiwa, Joe Mettle and Victoria Orenze, to name a few. Together, they have created a masterpiece of multi-layered visual storytelling about how God remains faithful, from generation to generation, and how His word is the model for generations.
Speaking about the inspiration for ‘You Are Still God’, Ayo Davies says: “In studying the word of God in my quest to know Him better and understand His ways, I was led to the book of Exodus by reading how God brought the Israelites out of Egypt. The word I received was that if God did not lose the battle against Pharaoh and the Egyptians, then He is not about to lose my battles because He is still the same God. I began to worship Him and thank Him with these words and the song ‘You Are Still God’ was written.”
