San Diego based collective awaken music (formerly Awaken Worship), among 10,000 members, multi-campus Awakened Churchreleases “Come What May” on January 14 via Fuel Music. Available to pre-register now at https://slinky.to/ComeWhatMaythe single declares an unwavering and unwavering trust in the Lord, no matter the circumstances. The hymn’s new chorus is meant to encourage Christians in 2022 and harks back to the bold praise heard in songs like “Blessed Be Your Name.”

“’Come What May’ is a rallying cry for people facing trials and tribulations and is a stake in the ground that gives people the vocabulary of praise,” shares Mike Yeagerwho runs Awaken Music, is the Eastlake campus pastor and co-wrote the new song with Deshauwn Tagliareni and Providence Cordell. “The first verse alludes to the fall of Jericho and talks about praise when things are going well and victories are won, and the second verse talks about praise during seasons of drought when you expect God to move.”

come what may
Nothing will stop my praise
Not afraid, I will stand with my hands raised
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
he overcame
So come what may
Nothing will steal my praise
(Excerpt from the chorus “Come What May”.)

Like his recent Lionheart (Deluxe) album, “Come What May” was produced by GRAMMY Award-nominated Stephen Blake Kanicka (Kanye West, for KING & COUNTRY, Danny Gokey) and mixed by David Cook (Chris Tomlin, Shawn Mendes).

And like the album, the new single represents Awaken Church’s fierce stance on the importance of coming together as believers to encourage and support one another. In August 2020, the church became one of the first to open its doors in California after pandemic shutdowns in order to support and serve their community that was struggling with an increase in substance abuse, suicide, and many other mental and physical illnesses. Growing from 8,000 to 10,000 members during that time and serving 25,000 people online, the church found courage and strength in the words and melodies created by its worship team.

“We were one of the few churches in America that really said, ‘Hey, wait a minute, the church is the most essential institution on the planet, we can’t close, our community needs it so much,’” Yeager recalls. “Our church is really big on the power of actually physically expressing God’s precepts and promises and principles.”

As new tunes are released into the world, Awaken Music hopes that people will find encouragement to join in fulfilling God’s plan by being active and hopeful in their mission and purpose as Christians.
