“God is the only master, it is towards him that all the glory must be directed”

It is in this spirit that the Adonai group was born, with the philosophy that no glory should go to anyone other than the one who is the giver of all gifts, The great I AM, YHVH, JEHOVAH, ADONAI. For He shares neither his glory, nor his dwelling, nor his praises, he is the only true God and that is why we strive to give him the expression of grandiose adoration, in one body. This is the group’s vision. Our mission is not to compete, nor to adapt. We do not seek to find a place for ourselves in any cultural environment by going with the flow, but to proclaim the name of God and our savior Jesus Christ: express our gratitude to him, show him our , and celebrate its achievements, not through hymns or rhythms to move the body, but through tunes and hymns to vibrate the heart while elevating the soul to its first dimension, connecting it to the divine Creator. This is what God asks (John 4:23-24)

In 1994, Maxime Marc Pierre lost his Uncle Pierre Richard, member of the Alabanza group. The loss had devastated him because he was very close to his parent. In his sorrow he met with whom he began writing songs. Very quickly they began to perform in churches with their only instrument, an accordion. But the songs they sang were so deeply inspired, that they became in the course of daily life, shared experiences, moments spent in worship, in prayer and were found on everyone’s lips. Adonai was born.

There were the occasional invitations to sing in worship, usually in small churches, after which came the necessary maneuvering, recruiting other members to make it a more representative group, and the question they feared: these songs Are they recorded anywhere? When will the album be released? And for many years, the answer was: Soon, we hope.
In the meantime, the group models itself and pours itself more and more into adoration than into praise (Jou pam nan). It almost creates an identity of a “Worship band”. Later with the arrival of other members, he rubbed shoulders with other styles such as blues “Mwen pa pou kont mwen” It was necessary to wait around 5 years before the dream could become reality, and the group’s first CD (jou pam nan) was out. In a varied style including soca, gospel, slow, and under the deep and influential inspiration of the maestro , it was evident that the CD was helping to meet a deep hunger in people’s lives. A desire to hold on to what defines the essence of music (music that is more listened to than danced), because many groups evolving in the field preferred and still prefer to follow the flow, thus prioritizing the pleasure of the senses rather than that of the soul and the mind. spirit.

Soon after, Adonai’s team grew to include others who shared a common vision and added their musical, vocal qualifications and other spiritual gifts to the ministry. The 2nd album (Fom ale) was born. This is confirmation of the group’s mission mentioned above. And although new genres were introduced into his repertoire (reggae, Jazz, rock…), the essence remained the same, Adonaï’s music is for the soul, it connects with God.

Then in July 2008, the group went on tour throughout Florida, with the aim of raising funds for the education of underprivileged children. It was a major event, which allowed them to proclaim throughout the state of Florida. Everywhere they went: Port Saint Lucie, West Palm Beach, Boyton Beach, Homestead, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and Key West, the songs moved, and the group’s mandate to introduce souls to God through music was the most ambitious objective so far undertaken.

Towards the general public who grant us “success”, our behavior is like that of the glass prism. We keep nothing to ourselves, but constantly and continually give glory to God, in everything, and for everything, because he is ADONAI.
