Nashville-based singer/songwriter Abby Robertson has released a reflective new song, “Everyday,” available today on all digital streaming platforms. The melodic anthem, which features Robertson’s breathtaking vocals, was created exclusively with Parade Magazine (4/22) writes, “an inspiring tribute to spiritual devotion, the track combines a pop sensibility with an unwavering message of faith.” The track written by Brandon Chase, Tyrus Morgan and Robertson addresses the importance of lifting your heart to God every day, not just in times of need. Listen to “Everyday” HERE.
“Brandon [Chase] came into the room with this idea and it was so refreshing to hear,” Robertson shares with Parade Magazine. “We have these tendencies to only come to God when things get tough and we only ask for help when we’re struggling. We tend to forget that when things are going well, we should also be asking Him for help.” At the beginning of the song, the lyrics open with, “I’m sorry for my tendency to only talk to you when I need something.” That line resonated so strongly with me and changed my perspective and honestly, my relationship with God. It’s not something I just come to when I’m struggling now, I go to Him all the time. It’s one of my favorite songs lyrically and I hope people can relate to it. It’s just a reminder of how important it is, we should always be running to God and giving Him our hearts.
This version follows on from “Sanctuary“, her most personal song to date – written during a difficult time when her father was suffering from a major health scare. Robertson turned inward and found peace the only way she knew how – through the power of God. The chill, uplifting tune was co-written with Tyrus Morgan (Unspoken, We Are Messengers), Dave Lubben (Halsey, Carly Rae Jepson, Corey Harper, TobyMac), Kevin MaC and Andrea Robertson, and was released via her new deal with Big Future Music Group. Watch the young singer showcase her stunning vocals in a live performance video shot at the famed Ocean Way Nashville Studio here.
Although she’s still early in her career, Robertson has a lot to be proud of: She’s opened for the likes of The Beach Boys and Switchfoot, and performed at international music festivals in Israel, Malta and Ethiopia. She’s released pop songs and even had a stint in country music, all before the age of 21.
However, if you ask Abby what her proudest career moment is so far, it’s not the festivals, the big names, or the impressive number of Spotify downloads. What Abby is most proud of are the moments she’s been able to be authentic with her music and on stage. As she explains, “Not worrying about what people think of me and being raw and real.” It’s no easy task, especially for a recording artist navigating today’s cultural landscape.
Robertson is thrilled to be the first artist to sign with Big Future, where she plans to continue releasing songs that ring true to her identity. authentic and who provide inspiration and healing to all who listen.
