here as well as with the lyric video below.

“Just this week, I was shown phone footage of a precious family in a Ukrainian town, caught in the horrors of war,” says Matt Redman. “Wrapped in winter coats and huddled together in a cold basement, they still sang their worship – using the song ‘10,000 Reasons’ to give voice to their hearts of faith. It was a humiliating video to watch. It’s been a decade since this simple song came out, but I don’t think I’ll ever get used to this kind of stuff. I have met some truly amazing worshipers along the way – people in cancer wards or on the firing line somehow finding their way to the place of worship – and using “10,000 Reasons » as a soundtrack. I love the new 10th anniversary release that Capitol Christian Music Group commissioned – and it’s a joy to join friends Pat Barrett, Crowder and the Torwalts on it.

“It is the greatest gift of a to be part of a song, a creative journey that is much bigger than yourself,” shares Jonas Myrin. “’10,000 Reasons’ was one of those gifts. Matt and I wrote this simple hymn in a small chapel in England, and even today – 10 years later, I am still in awe of how God has used and continues to use this song throughout the world. I realized pretty quickly that it wasn’t “our song”, but that it became an anthem for people in their personal moments of celebration, praise and joy, but also a song of comfort in times of heartache, sorrow and loss. So be it; through him, all, from morning light to sunset, with grateful hearts, bless the Lord, 10,000 years and then forever….

Since the release of “10,000 Reasons”, the song has received two RIAA Platinum certifications, two GRAMMY Awards (“Best Contemporary Christian Music Song, Best Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music Performance”), three GMA Dove Awards (“Song of the Year”). , ” Performance Song of the Year”, “Contemporary Pop Song”) and has over 1.3 billion global streams. Not only did this song impact worshipers, but also worship leaders and those who now lead music for the church.

“I knew the first time I heard this song that it wouldn’t be the last,” says Pat Barrett. “Here we are 10 years later, and he is still as relevant as he is reliable in his ability to cut through the noise and invite us to the table of communion with God. Which gift.

Bryan and Katie Torwalt share, “It’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years since this song was released. We were worship pastors at a church in central California when the song came out, and it’s been a staple ever since. It is a simple declaration of worship, and as David in the Psalms taught us to command our souls to praise the Lord! It was an incredible and timely song, which gave the church a new language to lift up our praises. We both grew up listening to and leading Matt Redman songs in youth groups, and so to be able to sing along to this 10th anniversary version of this incredible song with him and some of our friends is a huge honor!
